Activision Blizzard has announced that the Overwatch Summer Games are making a return for a second year running giving players another chance to get those must-have skins.
After a successful Summer Games 2016, they’re back for another year along with the Brawl game mode, Lúcioball. The event will take place from August 8 through to August 29, and will feature some brand new skins as well as the return of the previous 2016 skins.
Previous Summer Games skins will be available to purchase at a reduced cost compared to this year’s skins, with the 2017 skins costing the following:
- Legendary Skins: 3,000 credits
- Epic Skins: 750 credits
- Rare tier: 225 credits
- Common tier: 75 credits
As for the 2016 Summer Games skins, they’ll now cost:
- Legendary Skins: 1,000 credits
- Epic Skins: 250 credits
- Rare tier: 75 credits
- Common tier: 25 credits
Lúcioball also makes a return, however it’ll come with a few changes, the first is that Sydney will come as a new map environment with matches rotating between Sydney and Rio.
Changes to Lucio have also been made, including the ability to “boop” enemies, as well as his ultimate no longer pulling the ball towards the player, instead it boosts Lucio’s speed and the speed of his “boop”.
Finally, and probably the most important for competitive Overwatch players, Summer Games 2017 will also introduce a second competitive mode for Lucioball letting players place and rank.
