Microsoft were joined by Playerunknown himself, Brendan Greene, at their Gamescom conference to reveal more details about PUBG’s upcoming release on Xbox One. Announced earlier this year at E3, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will be coming to Xbox One later this year.
The update is promising for fans who want to get their hands on the Xbox version of the game sooner than later. Microsoft announced that they will publish the Xbox One version. This essentially means that the game’s developer Bluehole has Microsoft’s full expertise behind them and they should be able to get the console version out even faster. That said, we still haven’t seen an exact release date for the game yet and the year is passing by fast.
It was also revealed during the conference that the PC version has now sold over eight million units. Considering the game has only been available for a few months and is still in Early Access that’s a phenomenal sales figure.
There’s still no news on possible release on the PS4 but Bluehole have previously stated that all their energy is going into the Xbox One and PC versions at the moment. Though the fact that Microsoft will now be the publisher of the game makes the possibility of a PS4 version seem even more unlikely.
