Toxic Games is back once again with the sequel to their award-winning physics-based puzzle game, Q.U.B.E., simple named, Q.U.B.E. 2.
Q.U.B.E. 2 is set to launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in 2018 and will see players assuming the role of Amelia Cross, a British archaeologist on a stunning yet mysterious alien planet. On the planet, Cross and her fellow survivor Emma, must face the challenges of the Q.U.B.E. in the hopes of finding their way home.
“With Q.U.B.E 2 we want to give the player more story but we also want to give them more choice,” said Dan Da Rocha, Managing Director of Toxic Games. ”We’ve developed the tools players can use to solve puzzles, subverting the linearity of the original in favour of something more open, something that allows players to put their own stamp on solutions.”
Q.U.B.E. 2 is set to retain the puzzle-themes of the original game, but has more of an open feel to it allowing players to make their own mark on Amelia’s story and her survival.
Along with the announcement, Toxic Games have released a teaser trailer for the game which hints at some of what’s to come in the game as well as showing off the new environment.
