Earlier this week Microsoft opened up pre-orders for the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition, a limited edition version of “the most powerful console ever” and it went down pretty well.
This afternoon Microsoft took to Twitter to announce that the Xbox One X is the fastest selling Xbox pre-order ever. What that means exactly in terms of numbers is anyone’s guess, but I guess it’s nice for Microsoft to celebrate something.
“You, our biggest fans, have pre-ordered more Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition consoles in the first five days than any Xbox ever,” said Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President of Marketing for Xbox in a blog post.

While pre-orders of the Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition may be sold out, Microsoft have revealed that they plan to give details on when they roll out the next wave of the Xbox One X Standard Edition pre-orders next month.
The Xbox One X was fully unveiled at E3 earlier this year after going under the moniker of Project Scorpio for a couple of years prior. The console is set to be incredibly powerful and will offer plenty of enhancements for a good number of existing Xbox One games.
The current list of Xbox One games receiving enhancements can be found here.
