PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Hits 1 Million Concurrent Players

Yesterday evening PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) saw over 1 million players attempting to become the last alive out of 100 and win that coveted Chicken Dinner.

According to the Steam Stats page, the evening of Friday September 8, saw a total of 1,028,540 playing the game all at once. A pretty rare occurrence and once again puts PUBG above Steam’s other most popular title, DOTA 2.

Last weekend PUBG managed to break DOTA 2’s long-running streak at the top, and at time of writing, the game is continuing to do so with Valve’s MOBA sitting in second place at 645,218 current users, compared to PUBG’s 769,542.

DOTA 2 does on the other hand still hold the record for most concurrent players on Steam, which in March 2016, 1,291,328 players were playing DOTA 2 at once, so PUBG really isn’t that far behind.

Recently PUBG hit another massive milestone with 10 million copies sold.
