Today Ubisoft has announced Atomega, a brand new online multiplayer first person shooter which is set to launch on Steam on September 19.
Developed by Reflections, Atomega comes from the same “small incubator” which brought Grow Home and Grow Up. The game has been created with a “creatively experimental mind-set” and will offer unusual concepts that’ll apparently surprise and delight players, according to Ubisoft.
Atomega takes place during a time where time has come to an end an reality is rapidly disappearing. All that remains are “Exoforms” advanced post-biological lifeforms who are masters of matter, and the last connection between man and machine. From Ubisoft’s description it looks like it’s set to be an arena shooter where the end of time doesn’t matter, so these Exoforms are just having fun with it.
In the game players will be required to acquire mass either naturally or through firefights. This mass can then be used to evolve Exoforms. Mass also acts as a point accumulator with players succeeding by collecting more Mass than the other team.
“It is a relentlessly competitive experience, an easy to pick-up but hard to master game, with a light-hearted tone echoing the personality of its small development team,” explain Ubisoft in a press release.
