Bungie has announced that Destiny 2 will be down for maintenance again this week, however while previous weeks have been four-hours long, this week will be slightly longer at six.
From 2PM UK time all the way to 8PM, Destiny 2 servers will be under maintenance, the third time this has happened so far this month. Though it’s hardly surprising, since launch millions of players have piled into the game and many bugs have likely surfaced. In addition, we’ve seen new gameplay features being added to the game like the Raid and the Guided Games feature.
This week’s maintenance comes ahead of the proposed launch of Faction Rallies which will see some old faces returning to the game. Starting on September 26 at 2 AM Pacific players will be able to join one of three factions, Dead Orbit, Future War Cult, and New Monarchy.
After joining a faction, players can take part in their usual gameplay earning Faction Tokens which can be exchanged in return for loot. At the end of it all, players will then be able to purchase a new weapon. If you’re a part of the winning faction this weapon will cost as little as 1,000 Glimmer, however if you’re not, it’ll cost you 50K.
So we can let Bungie off this time, we’re happy to once again be living in the European Dead Zone while new features are added to the game… this time.
