Steamforged Games already revealed plans to launch a Kickstarter campaign for the Resident Evil 2 Board Game, now it’s finally here and already the game has smashed its funding goal.
The campaign, which launched earlier this week, smashed its initial funding goal of £150,000 within an hour and it’s well on its way to securing £300,000 with 27 days left to go. The developers are currently in the process of creating more stretch goals for the campaign, a handful of which have already been secured.
As you might expect, the Resident Evil 2 Board Game takes place during the events of the video game of the same name and features characters such as Leon S Kennedy, Robert Kendo, Claire Redfield, and of course, Ada Wong. It’ll have 1-4 players attempting to escape Raccoon City and the zombies within it.
During play, players will need to manage there inventory as ammo is limited, and Herbs are scarce all while trying their best not to succumb to the zombie hoards.
Players can currently grab the Survivor Pledge for £70 which includes:
- Resident Evil™ 2: The Board Game
- The B-Files Expansion Set
- Kickstarter Exclusive Leon Alt. Model
- All Unlocked Stretch Goals
This gives players over 20+ hours of gameplay through both the standard campaign and the added content from the B-Files expansion set. Plus there’s a number of really great models coming in the game from handfuls of zombies, to the pretty massive-looking William Birkin 3rd Stage.
Check out the campaign in the video below and head to the Kickstarter campaign to pledge.
