Another week, another crown for Activision’s Destiny 2. The sequel MMO shooter has scored its third number one title and is well on its way to beating the first.
This week saw a number of new entries in the form of Project CARS 2 and Pokken Tournament DX yet none could quite shake Destiny 2 from the top spot, despite a 47 percent drop in sales.
Project CARS 2 enters the charts in second place, placing lower than its predecessor, however last year it wasn’t facing Destiny 2 in the charts. That being said, physical sales compared to the first are pretty disappointing according to Chart-Track even if we consider the potential shift to digital.
Pokken Tournament DX launched on the Nintendo Switch last week, debuting in fifth place beating another new entry in the form of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite which finds itself in twelfth place.
Overall this week is full of decreases in sales across the board, making it a pretty dismal week for physical video game sales. It’d be interesting to see how this compares to digital.
