Cuphead, Studio MDHR’s fantastically frantic and notoriously difficult platform shooter, has done pretty well for itself on Steam according to early sales figures.
According to Bluesnews, Cuphead placed fourth in total on Steam for its launch week. That’s an impressive number considering last week the game was only on sale for three days. This puts Cuphead behind big hitters like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Total War: Warhammer 2, and Divinity: Original Sin 2.
According to SteamSpy, who keeps unofficial records of Steam sales, Cuphead sold around 125,000 copies over the first three days of sale. Once again another impressive figure, especially for a game which could be considered an acquired taste for some.
These numbers do not include sales on Xbox One and the Windows Store, however which way you look at it, it’s looking pretty good for the little retro indie title.
