Bob’s Burgers Movie Announced for 2020

Twentieth Century Fox has announced that the hit animated TV-show, Bob’s Burgers, is getting its own feature film set to premiere in 2020.

The incredibly popular show which first hit our screens in 2011 has been renewed for eight seasons – the eighth season of which has only just begun – and has become  a favourite among pretty much everyone.

Between its Sunday night airings on Fox and Hulu, nearly 8 million people watch the show in the US and its popularity is growing internationally, according to FOX in a press release.

Now, it looks like the show is becoming a movie and will premiere in theatres in 2020. Unfortunately other than a few tantalising quotes from Fox execs, we know very little about what the movie will involve. Though according to show creator Loren Bouchard the movie will be appealing to both old and new fans of the series.

“We’re thrilled to be invited to bring BOB’S BURGERS to the big screen. We want to thank Stacey and everyone at 20th Century Fox Film and Gary and Dana at FTG [Fox Television Group] for being such great supporters. We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who’ve never seen the show,” he said. “We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colors and the sounds and the ever so slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob’s – but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?!”

Bob’s Burgers is also doing pretty well for itself as of late, scoring the 2017 Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program. More details of the movie are likely to come out over the next year or two.
