Paramount Pictures have acquired the movie rights for the upcoming live-action Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the movie has jumped ship from Sony to Paramount with most of the team remaining a part of the movie. One of those team members is Neal Moritz who’ll be acting as the movie’s producer. Tim Miller of Deadpool fame will also be acting as executice producer with Jeff Fowler directing the flick.
The movie itself will feature a mixture of live-action and CGI animation putting everyone’s favourite speedy blue hedgehog into the real world. This will also be Sonic’s first outing into the big screen.
As for the movie itself, we’re unsure exactly what Sonic will be doing, but it’ll likely involve another diabolical scheme from Dr. Eggman which will require Sonic and friends to save the world.
Either way, I’m pretty excited. Let’s just hope they choose the Sonic from the right era.
