Team Fortress 2 is set to head to the tropics in Jungle Inferno, which will see our favourite miscreants adventuring around Saxton Hale’s failed attraction, Yeti Park, in the next big themed update.
As is the Valve tradition, they are counting down to the release with more and more teasers, so more will be announced as we run up to the update’s release.
Yeti Park, a theme park where disaster is the key to entertainment, re-branded hastily by Saxton Hale, Mercenary Park has our favourite band of loonies fighting across its grounds, visitor centre, and countless other areas which wouldn’t look out of place on the set of Jurassic Park.
The five other maps set for releases in this update are community maps. Valve released the Jungle theme assets a good while back now, with the intention of challenging people to produce more specific creactions. The five chosen for this update are the Attack/Defend mode map Mossrock, King of the Hill maps Lazarus and Brazil the Payload Race map Banana Bay, and finally the Payload map Enclosure.
Players can purchase the game’s Jungle Inferno Campaign Pass giving immediate access to 36 unique, skill-based contracts, letting players play at their own speed and challenge level. This differs from the previous releases, and give players full reign over the order they complete the contracts in. The contracts will even be playable in co-op. Fulfilment of these will grant players Blood Money, which they can spend on whatever tickles their fancy.
Jungle Inferno introduces War Paint, which will be replacing campaign weapon drops and weapon cases. War Paint will work as a voucher that can be redeemed for an entirely new patterned item. Redeeming a War Paint means that players will no longer have to sacrifice any existing items in their backpack by modifying them. Some War Paints will feature Stat Tracking and Unusual effects. Along side this will be the release of the first-ever community-made War Paints.
In true TF2 fashion, there’s going to be new taunts, and we’ve been treated to a new animated short.
