Nintendo this morning announced Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, the latest mobile game from the company which brings classic Animal Crossing gamplay to your smartphone.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is a free-to-play mobile game coming to iPhone, iPad, and Android devices next month. In the brief Nintendo Direct held this morning, we got our first glimpse of the game which looks like a much more fleshed-out version of New Leaf’s campsite gameplay.
In Pocket Camp, players will be a new resident of a camp site with their own camper van to customise and upgrade, as well as a whole campsite in which they can decorate with new items.
Using resources found in amongst the campsite players can craft new items, with the camper van also being used to fast-travel to other locations within the site. Players can also customise their Animal Crossing character with clothes and shoes from the in-game store.
With the game being free-to-play you can expect to find microtransactions and premium currency which comes in the form of Leaf Tickets. These will let you craft items without needing the resources first, or complete an in-development project before the timer counts down – pretty much like any other city building game on mobile.
