Addams Family Animated Reboot Gets a Director

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the upcoming Addams Family animated reboot has secured Conrad Vernon as the overseer of the project.

Everyone’s favourite creepy, kooky, and ooky family, The Addams Family, will be making a return to the big screen in animated form thanks to MGM. And according to the latest report, Sausage Party director, Conrad Vernon will be joining the project along with Gail Berman and The Jackal Group, and Alex Schwartz.

The movie will be taking a step back to the family’s origins, namely the cartoons drawn by Charles Addams from the 1930s. The script has already been written by Pamela Pettler, with animation being handled by Cinesite, the studio behind CG effects in X-Men: Apocalypse and Assassin’s Creed.

We haven’t seen anything of The Addams Family since its 90s reboot which saw a total of two movies being released. So it’ll definitely be a welcomed surprise. Currently the movie doesn’t have a release date.
