Star Wars Battlefront 2 launched way back in 2005 and it was an instant hit. Today it received its first updated in 12 years.
Disney have taken it upon themselves to restore the game’s multiplayer functionality which disappeared along with Gamepsy back in 2014, for both the Steam and GOG versions of the game. Since then dedicated gamers had to make use of 3rd party programs to set up their own servers for multiplayer.
The good news doesn’t stop there! Not only is Disney bringing the servers back online, it was also announced today that there will be crossplay between GOG and Steam versions of Battlefront 2.
I for one can’t wait to dip my toes back into the massive 64 player battles and galactic conquests I used to love back in the day. Now’s a perfect time for you to join in too even if you’ve never played before as Star Wars Battlefront 2 is on sale on GOG for less than a fiver.
That should be enough to tide us all over until DICE’s brand new version of Battlefront 2 released on November 17 this year.
