Cuphead Sells 1 Million Copies Across PC, Xbox One

Developer Studio MDHR has announced that Cuphead has hit one million sales across PC and Xbox One.

After just a few days of being on sale, Cuphead managed to rack up an impressive 125,000 copies on Steam alone, and now we have official numbers regarding sales across all platforms and storefronts: 1 million.

While the wait for Cuphead was a long one, it’s been pretty well worth it as the game displays an impressive array of simplistic yet incredibly challenging gameplay and insanely adorable artwork, and it goes to show as just a few weeks after release the game has gone on to sell one million copies.

Unfortunately we don’t know the split between Xbox One and PC, however according to Steam Spy there are roughly 602,342 (give or take) owners of Cuphead on Steam alone. While these numbers aren’t official, Steam Spy is usually pretty spot on with these, and thus it looks as if the PC version is outselling the Xbox version.

“We have worked tirelessly over the past few years to deliver a game that remained true to our vision and we are both humbled and excited that so many people from around the world are playing Cuphead–it truly makes it all worth it,” wrote developers Chad and Jared Moldenhauer.
