Bandai Namco has today announced that Dragon Ball FighterZ is set to arrive sooner rather than later as they’ve moved the release to January 2018.
Previously set to launch in Japan on February 1, and in North America and Europe in “early 2018″, Bandai Namco has today announced that Dragon Ball FighterZ will be launching on January 26, 2018. In addition, two new editions of the game are also incoming, the FighterZ Edition and the Ultimate Edition.
In both of these editions, players will find the FighterZ Pass which will add eight new characters to the roster. The press release didn’t detail whether these characters will be unlocked as part of the two special editions, or whether they’d be launching as additional content and the FighterZ Pass acts as a Season Pass for this content.
The FighterZ Edition includes the FigherZ Pass and the base game, while the Ultimate Edition comes with the base game, FighterZ Pass, the Anime Music Pack (11 songs from the Anime), as well as a Commentator Voice Pack.
The anime music pack will feature fan favourite songs including “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA”, “WE GOTTA POWER”, and the most famous endings and background music!
Pre-orders have also opened on all platforms which will give players early access to the game’s open beta. Details on the open beta are to come at a later date. Pre-ordering also grants players early character unlocks to SSGSS Goku and SSGSS Vegeta, 2 exclusive lobby avatars, and 3 stamps.
