DuckTales Becomes Disney XD’s Most Popular Show in Over Two Years
DUCKTALES - Disney's "DuckTales," an all-new animated comedy series based on the Emmy Award-winning series, will again star Disney's enduringly popular characters: Scrooge McDuck, his grandnephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, and Donald Duck. Produced by Disney Television Animation, the series is set to debut in 2017 on Disney XD. (Disney XD)

Disney has revealed that DuckTales, the remake of the classic Saturday afternoon cartoon, has become one of the network’s #1 animated series in over two years.

The launch of the remake, which saw two episodes airing back-to-back, has been ranked the network’s number one animated series launch in two-and-a-half years with 662,000 total viewers, and Kids 2-11 (311,000/0.8 rating). It’s also the channel’s number one animated launch in over two years in Kids 6-11 (164,000/0.7 rating).

This beats the likes of Star vs. The Forces of Evil and LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures, respectively. According to Disney 40% of all Kids 2-14 watched the premieres with Adults 18-49.

That’s a pretty impressive showing considering the new series had a lot to live up to. However with the Woo-oo! TV movie being our first taste of the new DuckTakes, I’ll admit that it’s doing its legacy plenty of justice.

DuckTales currently airs Saturday mornings on Disney XD in the United States.
