Epic Games has reported that Fortnite Battle Royale has over 3.7 million players as of this past Sunday with over 500,000 players jumping into the game at the same time.
It looks like Fortnite could be catching up on PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds as Epic Games has revealed that there are plenty of players jumping into Fortnite’s own version of the popular Battle Royale game. However, concurrent player users are barely holding up a birthday candle to that of PUBG.
According to Epic Games Fortnite Battle Royale has seen a peak of 525,000 concurrent users. The last we heard, PUBG was nearing on the 2 million concurrent user milestone, that’s roughly six times that of Fortnite. That being said, PUBG does have about a six month lead on Fortnite Battle Royale, which itself has only been available for a few weeks.
Fortnite Battle Royale’s numbers are an accumulation of players across North America, Europe, and Oceania, and presumably a combination of PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One players.
Is Fortnite catching up to PUBG? It’s difficult to say right now, but there’s certainly a good chance of it happen, at least before PUBG launches on Xbox One later this year.
