The big screen debut of Channing Tatum as kinetic weapon wielding X-Man Gambit finally has a release date. Gambit will be released 14 February 2019 – a possible nod to Valentine’s Day and the mutants flirtatious personality.
It’s been a tricky road so far for the X-men spin off, with the project already losing two directors in Rupert Wyatt and Doug Liman. Gore Verbinski is currently on board as director with the script under the wing of Josh Zetumer.
The movie will be set in the same X-men universe as Logan and Deadpool and Channing Tatum will be the second actor to play the mutant as Taylor Kitsch took on the role in X-men Origins: Wolverine.
Don’t expect to see any of Xavier’s main team in the flick. If you’re looking for more standard X-men team action then Dark Phoenix will be coming to the big screen next year – so don’t worry about missing out.
