Bluehole Spin PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Team into PUBG Corp Subsidiary

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds developer Bluehole has announced that new subsidiary, PUBG Corp, will be handling development of the popular battle royale game.

Now PUBG regularly hits over 1.5 million concurrent users, Bluehole have clearly decided that it’d be better off if a dedicated company were to handle development and other opportunities, at least, that’s what the company said in an announcement.

Development lead, Chang Han Kim will be the CEO of PUBG Corp, and Wonghee Cho, former CEO of Maui Games, will be joining as COO of the new company. According to the announcement Cho will be “accelerating overall business development and managing global operations.”

“This new structure allows us to be nimble as we look towards the expansion of strategic business opportunities that include the game’s potential in the esports sector and the growth of PUBG as a true global IP franchise,” said Kim in a press release.

PUBG Corp has already set up an office in the US, but plans to open offices in both Europe and Japan too.
