With a pretty busy week in terms of new released the number one spot this week was anyone’s game, however it looks like Ubisoft have hit the nail on the head once more as Assassin’s Creed Origins lands in first place.
According to Chart-Track, Assassin’s Creed Origins sales are almost on par with its predecessor, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, however it surpasses the 2015 release in terms of revenue thanks to the more expensive collector’s editions on offer.
In second place is everyone’s Game of the Year this year, Super Mario Odyssey, which has become one of the highest rated games of all time and becomes the biggest ever launch for a Switch title. Odyssey smashes the record set earlier this year by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. What’s more, Odyssey has also become bigger than any Wii U title debut.
Super Mario Odyssey, according to Chart-Track is Nintendo’s 6th biggest launch ever, which is absolutely insane.
FIFA 18 has since been pushed down to third place followed by another new entry, Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus which sits comfortably in fourth place. GT Sport has dropped to fifth followed by UK Gaming Charts main stay, GTA 5 which holds strong thanks to retailer promotions last week.
Destiny 2 comes back into the charts in seventh place thanks to the PC release, and finally the only other new entry in the top 40 is Ubisoft’s Just Dance 2018 which lands in twenty-third place.
