Bungie has disclosed some hard facts about the upcoming Curse of Osiris Expansion for Destiny 2 which was unveiled at Paris Games Week earlier this week. Sadly there was no huge reveal, aside from the new trailer that dropped on Monday. So, here is everything you need to know about the Curse of Osiris expansion!
The expansion will launch on December 5 and it will be available across all platforms (Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC) on that day.
The infamous ‘Lighthouse’ will be available to the general public, a pretty exciting bit of news! Previously, only a flawless victory run granted access to the location. Hopefully it’s as mysterious and awesome as all the hype around it has been. Speaking of Trials of Osiris, the expansion will see the return on Brother Vance, which shouldn’t be too surprising considering he was the NPC for Trials.
Character Power and Light Levels will be increased. Now players can grind 5 whole additional levels to cap themselves off at 25 now, and the Light Level will be increased by 25 to a new cap of 330. If the crawl from 282 to 300 was a pain, going from 305 to 330 should be a blast… woo.
Incase you didn’t already know, Mercury will be the new location we can travel to. Complete with new quests, adventures, missions, Strike and of course a new Raid. I mean, these were kind of a given but hey, this is what Bungie wants us to know. One of Mercury’s locations will be the ‘Infinite Forest’ which is a “simulated reality controlled by the Vex.” Rumour has it that the Infinite Forest will be procedurally generated? However, no confirmations have been given on this yet, so for now, take it with a grain of salt.
In terms of story, you’re sent to Mercury because Ikora Rey wants you to find her exiled Warlock mentor, Osiris. Man, no one can do anything for themselves in this game. Anyway, Mercury, as I previously stated, is controlled by the Vex, so expect a lot of those bastards. There will also be four main characters introduced in the DLC. Osiris is the main one, duh, but it will also introduce us to Sagira, Osiris’ Ghost. She will be your guide through this new world, which will also be the first time anyone speaks to another Ghost. Whats more exciting is Sagira will be voiced by Morena Baccarin! Firefly fans will know who I’m talking about.
Aside from all that, Wormhaven will be the PlayStation exclusive map, suck it Microsoft; and Bungie will be doing livestreams on Twitch to show off more Trials of Osiris content throughout the month of November.
