A new trailer was recently released for Experimental Film: The First Success Story of Internet Video, a biopic about the Brothers Chaps, better known as the creators of the Homestar Runner flash cartoons.

The new Experimental Film trailer features some footage from the film which can be seen on co-writer, actor, and producer Charley Marlowe’s YouTube account and the project’s own personal YouTube account, along with some new footage. This trailer teases at the origins of many now-familiar aspects of Homestar Runner.

This trailer also features a cover of They Might Be Giant’s “Experimental Film,” by the band Go! Child. This song is a fitting choice for the trailer, not only because of the similar names of Marlowe’s film and They Might Be Giant’s song, but also because the Brothers Chaps made the music video for the original song which featured some of the Homestar Runner cast.

Experimental Film will be premiering at Derpycon 2017, which is hosted in Morristown, New Jersey. The film will be premiering during the “An Oral History of Homestar Runner” panel, which will take place from 3-4 p.m. on November 18. If you can’t make it to New Jersey that weekend, don’t worry–Experimental Film will be posted to Youtube following the panel. Go! Child’s cover will also be available as a free download on iTunes following the premiere.

For more information on the film itself, please check out the interview we ran with Charley Marlowe in October, as well as Marlowe’s Twitter account.
