The latest update to Epic Games’ Battle Royale mode for Fortnite addresses weapon balance issues, adds a new Silenced SMG, and starts to address the issues surrounding team killing.

This new update brings us a new, stealthy version of the SMG, the new Silenced SMG. Alongside this drop, the Game’s existing SMG is getting a tweak, with improvements to both the gun’s damage and magazine size.

It’s not just SMG’s getting all the attention. The Legendary drop for the Bush Consumable, has had its drop rate reduced following community feedback. Making it just that little bit rarer. Still gonna be shooting every bush you see though.

Going forward from here, the developers actually want to make the fan-made phenomenon of rocket and grenade riding into an actual feature of the game. Support for this will come eventually, providing it doesn’t cause any game breaking issues. A public test server, akin to those of Battlefield and Overwatch, is also reported to be in the pipeline.

Epic Games have admitted that team killing is something that team has drop the ball on, and they are working towards creating a solution. It is worth noting that this update does not fix the issue. Players are urged to report those playing in malicious and exploitative ways, to further help the team create their solution.
