That’s right, Microsoft has announced that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) will be launching on Xbox One on December 12, 2017 – just in time for the holidays.
During Paris Games Week Microsoft and Brendan Green (a.k.a. PlayerUnknown) announced the news during the opening of the Xbox Booth, and what an announcement it was. Xbox players across the world have been waiting for this announcement, and just like we were promised the game is coming before the end of the year.
So mark your calendars, December 12, 2017 you’ll be able to jump into the cut-throat world of PUBG as 100 players are thrust onto an island with nothing more than a pair of underpants in an effort to find as many weapons and gear as they can, and become the last man or woman standing.
To celebrate the news Microsoft and PUBG Corp. have announced three special, limited-edition cosmetic packs coming to the game, the PUBG Warrir Pack, the PUBG Accessory Pack, and the PUBG Tracksuit Pack. These packs will be exclusive to Xbox players as standalone offers for a limited time.
Interestingly, once these three limited items are gone, Microsoft state that there are no plans to introduce in-game purchases in the Xbox Game Preview version, only these items will be available. Presumably, when the game fully launches on Xbox One players will likely be able to purchase crates.
Timing and pricing is set to be revealed in the coming weeks, though if the PC Early Access version is anything to go by, it’ll likely be sitting pretty at £25.
