This week we received a brand new “overly cinematic” trailer for ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove which unfortunately reveals that the game is being delayed to 2018.
Humanature Studios announced the news to Kickstarter backers this week adding that they “tried super hard” to get the game out this year. Sadly that won’t be the case and the game has now been pushed back to 2018.
“Game development is an inexact science and it’s our priority to deliver the best, most solid game we can,” wrote Humanature Studios founder Greg Johnson. “To get the game across the finish line we need to push into 2018, but rest assured we are working our butts off and you guys are going to get an awesome game.”
ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove was originally announced back in 2015 along side its Kickstarter campaign where Johnston, one of the game’s original creators, looked to raise $400,000. They raised a total of $508,637. Then, in 2016 Adult Swim stepped in as publisher.
Now, with the delay, players can expect to find the title on Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime in 2018.
