Call of Duty: WW2 has landed in the top spot in the UK Gaming Charts this week, showing an overall impressive rise in sales.
Another year, another Call of Duty, this time with Call of Duty WW2 a game which sees the series go back to its roots after the series has added more unnecessary and complex mechanics to its once thriving multiplayer mode. That’s not to say the game hasn’t done well in recent years, it still continues to sell millions, however according to Chart-Track, WW2 has given the series the boost that it needed.
Call of Duty: WW2 launched on Friday, giving just three days of sales, however that hasn’t stopped the game’s week 1 sales becoming “significantly higher” than its predecessor, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare. Week one sales were up by 51 percent higher in units and 21 percent higher in revenue than last years release.
Elsewhere in the charts Assassin’s Creed Origins has fallen down to second followed by FIFA 18 in third place. Super Mario Odyssey has fallen to fourth place followed by Gran Turismo Sport in fifth.
The only new entry this week was Spintires: Mudrunner which lands in twenty-fourth place this week.
