My.com have announced that Warface, Crytek’s free-to-play shooter, is the latest to get the battle royale treatment, and it’s also aptly named Battle Royale.
According to the announcement, this is a “new experimental PvP game mode” which will be coming as part of the next update for a “limited time”. It’s called Battle Royale, and as you’d most likely expect, it pits players against one another in a fight to be the last man standing.
“Warface has a broad variety of game modes available – some are more conservative and classic, suited to the 5-on-5 scenarios, whilst some others are more dynamic and perhaps even, arcade. With Battle Royale, we wanted to create something on the thin verge between the two, and here you have it: quick-paced combat with an element of the unknown – you never know which gun you’re going to get, with action taking place on the largest PvP map ever seen in the game.”
During its limited run, the developers will use the data and feedback to improve the mode before it makes its return.
Warface recently got a new lease of life thanks to my.com who purchased the game from Crytek earlier this year. Since then the game has received a number of updates as well as a brand new expansion in the form of the Pripyat update.
