Digital Extremes has announced that Warframe player numbers have broken records thanks to the game’s most recent update, Plains of Edilon.
Plains of Edilon has become one of the biggest updates to come to Warframe introducing a brand new sprawling area to the game as well as open world gameplay. Since the update on October 12 on PC, the game has seen record numbers.
According to Digital Extremes, Warframe hit an all-time peak of 121,377 concurrent players on Steam, almost doubling its previous record of 69,526 which it achieved back in March this year. This made it the second highest peak concurrent users for a free-to-play game currently on Steam, and it only continues to grow.
Warframe has seen more than 30 million registered players since its launch in 2013 across all three systems over its four-plus years being online.
Plains of Eidolon‘s expansion launched on PC on October 12, and will arrive on PlayStation®4 and Xbox One later this year, and is free to play.
