During BlizzCon’s opening ceremony this past weekend Blizzard unveiled the next big expansion coming to World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth.
Following the events of the Legion expansion, the rift between The Alliance and The Horde couldn’t be more obvious as the two are once again at arms against each other. A new age of warfare is about to begin as players are tasked with the seemingly impossible quest to find new allies and bring the world to peace once more.
“Conflict is at the heart of the Warcraft saga, and in Battle for Azeroth, tensions that have been simmering for a long time escalate into all-out war,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “World of Warcraft players are incredibly passionate about the characters and factions they identify with in the game, and this expansion will make them prouder than ever to declare their allegiance to the Horde or to the Alliance.”
Depending on their allegiances, in World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth players will find themselves exploring the Zandalar empire as the Horde seeking help from the trolls, or the kingdom of Kul Tiras as the Alliance to try and get Jaina Proudmoore and the kingdom’s inhabitants to fight for their cause. Players will also be able to recruit and play as new allied races such as Highmountain tauren, Void elves, Dark Iron dwarves, and more.
Aside from the new kingdoms, players will also be able to voyage to uncharted islands in order to scavenge for resources to fuel their war efforts, but it won’t be easy as players will be faced with a series of ever-changing enemies, environments and objectives, as well as other players each battling for the same thing.
This new expansion is set to offer an instant boost to level 110 and an overall level cap rise to 120 giving players to additional levels to take on new World Quests.
