Team17 and Playtonic games have announced the release date for Yooka-Laylee on Nintendo Switch following a pretty lengthy delay.

Just in time for Christmas Yooka-Laylee will be landing on Nintendo Switch on December 14. The game initially landed on all other platforms back in April, however the Nintendo Switch edition of the game needed a little bit more polish.

The Switch version is set to contain a “shed-load of polish and updates” as well as the ability to use a single JoyCon across all multiplayer games. There’s also an achievement system, as well as the ability to play on the go, obviously.

“Players can expect a quality experience both on and away from the television and on top of that, Switch players will benefit from the huge list of updates we’ve added since launch such as a brand new camera mode, control improvements, menu options, music… and a lot more!”

Players can pre-order the game on December 7 on the eShop ahead of its release on December 14.
