Ever wished you could have a Destiny 2 Ghost of your own to talk to? Well now you can!… Kind of.
For anyone with an Amazon Alexa-enabled device, you can now start having conversations with a Ghost, and yes Nolan North did the voice acting! Activision and Amazon have released a new “Destiny 2 Ghost Skill” for your Alexa in-home assistant that lets you complete in-game tasks and answers questions for you.
They didn’t stop there though, for a limited time you can purchase a Ghost speaker for a more full experience. Sadly this is not an Alexa device in it’s own right, it just syncs with the Alexa you already have. BUT the LEDs light up when it talks to you, so that’s neat. Anyone with an echo, echo dot, or other Alexa enabled devices can turn on this skill for free right now through Amazon.
With the skill active you can ask your Ghost to do all sorts of things, according to Activision. You will get fun comments for things regarding characters like Ikora or Cayde-6, however, you can also ask for more specific things pertaining to your current character(s), like where to go or what to do next based on where you are in the game!
You can even ask it to “Equip your Raid Loadout”?! That’s right, apparently loadouts are a thing in Destiny 2 now, but ONLY if you have an Alexa to ask. Sorry everyone that doesn’t own an Alexa enabled device.
Based on recent news, we all know Bungie has their hands full at the moment, but it would be nice if these “loadouts” were a thing that could be made available to people who don’t want or own an Alexa enabled device.
Just saying Bungie… food for thought.
