Kojima & Guillermo Del Toro Confirmed for The Game Awards

Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro, who have been working on Death Stranding since Kojima left Konami will both be in attendance at this year’s Game Awards.

You may remember The Game Awards in 2015 when Metal Gear Solid V won an award and Konami wouldn’t let Kojima accept the award or even attend the event. While at Konami, he was working on a reboot of Silent Hill with renowned film director, Guillermo Del Toro. A demo called P.T. was released and went viral, raising everyone’s hopes for a new Silent Hill. However since he left Konami he can no longer work on the but teamed up with Del Toro again to begin work on Death Stranding, which will be published by Sony.

Death Stranding was announced at E3 2016 and though we’ve seen a little more since then we still don’t know much about it apart from the fact Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen will be starring in it alongside Del Toro himself.

More intriguing is the fact that Kojima has been retweeting P.T. related tweets.

Could this mean there’s still something going on there? It’s very unlikely but it would be amazing if they could get a second chance at Silent Hill. At the very least, we still have Death Stranding to look forward to.

Hopefully more details will be revealed at this year’s Game Awards when Kojima and Del Toro take to the stage together.

Death Stranding will be released on the PS4 some time in the future. Details are scarce at the moment but with such legendary creative minds working together it will almost certainly be a masterpiece.
