MediEvil is coming back! Sony has announced that the hack and slash game from the original PlayStation will be getting remastered for the PlayStation 4!
During the PlayStation Experience this past weekend, Shawn Layden, president and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment America announced that Sir Daniel will be making his return and will be getting “fully remastered” for the PS4. Layden also added that MediEvil was “a really important title in my personal journey and career.”
“We think Sir Daniel needs one more resurrection and this is the time to do it,” Layden said. “Serendipitously, I’d already had this one baking in the oven and then I saw all the pressure and thought this was a great time to talk about it.”
This announcement likely comes off of the back of the huge success of Activision’s remaster of Crash Bandicoot, which for a number of weeks after its release it remained at the top of the charts. Here’s hoping lightning strikes twice.
A teaser trailer for the MediEvil remaster has also been revealed which states that the game’s visuals will be completely overhauled and will support 4K. Unfortunately we have no idea when the game will be released.
