Atlus’ Catherine came out all the way back in 2011 for PS3 and Xbox 360 but now it’s getting an update for its release on PS4 and Vita, called Catherine: Full Body.
The game features a young man named Vincent Brooks haunted by nightmares and trying to decide whether to stay with his girlfriend Katherine, or go out with a new girl he likes called Catherine. During the day the player is tasked with talking to the women, getting to know them, making choices about Vincent’s life. Then at night you play Vincent’s nightmares which are comprised of puzzle platforming adventures where you must climb gigantic staircases before they collapse beneath your feet.
Despite its difficulty and all round bizarre nature, Catherine did well for Atlus. It garnered much praise from critics at the time and sold over half a million units in its first year. No surprise then that it’s getting a touch up. But the remastered edition isn’t just a graphical overhaul. By the looks of things there will be another girl for Vincent to fall in love with. It’s always good to see a remaster actually adding content to make it worth the full price again.
Catherine: Full Body does not have a release date yet but more will be revealed here on December 22 at 7:30 PM, Japanese time.
