The open world racing game that debuted in 2008 on Xbox 360 and PS3 may be getting re-released on PS4, Switch and Xbox One according to Brazilian suppliers.
Gamepress reported that a supplier had posted a listing for Burnout Paradise on the PS4 and Xbox One, including information saying it will be released on March 1st, 2018 for the price of R$149,90, or about $45. Shortly after that, Nintendo Life reported that the same game had been rated for release on the Switch in Brazil.
This comes as great news to fans of the game like myself. Personally I think Burnout Paradise is one of the best racing games I’ve ever played with a great soundtrack to boot. I already own it on the Xbox 360 and PC but having it on the Switch would be great. With its quick races that can be started and stopped at any time, it’s a perfect fit for Nintendo’s portable system. A new release would also hopefully breathe life back into its multiplayer community, which would make it even better!
I am absolutely looking forward to a remastered edition of Burnout Paradise. Like many re released this may be a way for the devs to gauge public interest for the series to see if it’s worth making another new one. With any luck it will be a success and we’ll see Burnout brought back to life. Even if it doesn’t quite work out that way, we’ve always got Burnout’s spiritual successor to look forward to.
