Call of Duty: WW2 is this year’s Christmas Number One video game! Who would have saw that coming? Oh, pretty much everyone.
The Official Christmas Chart has arrived and Call of Duty: WW2 is once again sitting at the top which means Activision’s “back to its roots” shooter has scored 2017’s Christmas Number One video game. This is the game’s fourth Christmas Number One in a row. It also puts the Call of Duty franchise on par with FIFA who now both have a total of eight Christmas Number One’s under their belts.
Speaking of FIFA, [amazon_textlink asin=’B072JZB85B’ text=’FIFA 18′ template=’ProductLink’ store=’n3rdabl3-21′ marketplace=’UK’ link_id=’3445653b-e3dd-11e7-b543-f9c99b5b752f’] sits in second place this week followed by another EA title, Star Wars Battlefront 2 which sees a massive surge in sales thanks to the launch of Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This of course fends of Microsoft’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds which debuts in fourth place.
Assassin’s Creed Origins lands in fifth place followed by Super Mario Odyssey in sixth. This pushes Grand Theft Auto 5 down to its lowest position this year (I think) in seventh place.
Here’s the full rundown:
- Call of Duty: WW2
- FIFA 18
- Star Wars: Battlefront
- PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds

In other UK Gaming Chart news, it’s been announced that in 2018 digital sales will soon be included in the UK charts with their own list. Following this, in 2019 both digital and physical sales will be combined and will surely change the shape of the UK Gaming Charts moving forward.
