It looks like Call of Duty: WW2 was the last-minute buy of the year as the final UK Gaming Charts has revealed that Activision’s latest shooter has scored its eighth number one.
In the final week before Christmas entertainment software sales have risen by 29 percent. Unsurprisingly, Call of Duty: WW2 has lead the way becoming the final number one title of 2017. The last time this happened was with Zumba Fitness, which held the number one spot for 10 weeks running back in 2011.
As you’d expect, the next few titles in the charts are FIFA 18 and of course Star Wars Battlefront 2. Despite Battlefront 2’s lukewarm success, it seems people still wanted disappointment under the tree this year.
Oddly enough there seems to still be people who haven’t purchased a copy of Grand Theft Auto 5 as that game shoots up to fifth place with a 30 percent increase in sales. Bizarre.
