Owners of Assassin’s Creed Origins will see a pretty sizeable update (3GB on Xbox One and PlayStation 4) available for the game from today. The update is the prerequisite to playing and owning the upcoming expansion, The Hidden Ones.
Two new map regions will come for the already impressively large game, allowing players to visit Sinai and the Valley of the Kings. No word yet on the size of these New area but if the others are anything to go by players could be kept exploring for many more hours.
The new quest line itself, focused on the Roman occupiers of Egypt, takes place ten years after the final quest of Assassin’s Creed Origins – meaning that not only do we see the birth of the brotherhood in the game, but potentially how it grew in that first decade after inception.
The first quest in the expansion, Incoming Threat, will be available to all players but it’s not clear yet whether it takes place in the existing regions or the two new areas. It’s also not clear how a paywall will be put in place on the quest line, ensuring that players without the expansion won’t feel any friction if they choose to play the first quest.
It’s not just new story content coming to the game today though – Ubisoft has detailed tonnes of changes in its blog. Check out the full list here.
