It’s been the best part of 5 years since we first heard about the potential for a Steven Spielberg-produced Halo TV series, but Showtimetime President and CEO David Nevins has recently commented on the state of the series, confirming it is still in active development, and that Spielberg is indeed attached to the project.
Speaking to TV Guide at the Television Critics Association winter press tour, Showtime President and CEO David Nevins stated that the series is “still in very active development,” to accompany this, Gary Levine, president of programming at Showtime stated that the Halo TV Series “is absolutely still in development, still moving forward and I’m encouraged by what we’ve seen so far… It’s still live action, and it will definitely satisfy the fans of Halo and I think also satisfy the drama audiences of Showtime.”
This all sounds very, very promising. As a long time fan of the franchise I cannot wait for this to be released. There’s a lot to work with within the Halo universe, and hopefully they’ll take from the universe and bring some of the lesser known aspects of the franchise into the limelight.
What do you think? Let us know if you’re sharing our excitement for getting a new Halo Series, when it finally hits our screens!
