Fathom Events will be showing Jim Henson’s 1986 film Labyrinth at select movie theatres for three days later this spring.
Labyrinth will be playing April 29, May 1 and May 2 and the showings will include new introductions by Brian Henson, Jim Henson’s son, and Jennifer Connelly, who played the main character in the film. There will also be a special theatrical screening from Jim Henson’s fantasy television series The Storyteller on the play bill. Fathom Events is also encouraging fans to show up in costume, though masks, “face-concealing make-up,” fake (or real!) weapons, and costumes that conceal the body (such as cloaks) are all prohibited.
Labyrinth is about a quest a teenage girl named Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) must take to retrieve her baby stepbrother after she accidentally wishes for goblins to take him away. She must traverse through their land, populated by Jim Henson’s creations, to get her brother back from the goblin king (David Bowie) himself.
You can check if any theatres near you will be hosting the special screenings here. If you’re a big fan of Jim Henson, you may be interested in checking out the details for similar events with The Dark Crystal in February and March.
