Sonic the Hedgehog will be making his film debut next year, on November 15, 2019 according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Plans to bring Sonic to the big screen were announced back in 2016 with Deadpool director Tim Miller on the team as executive producer and Jeff Fowler as directer. Fowler is best known for his Oscar-nominated short film “Gopher Broke.”

Sega has been very quiet about the movie so not much is known about it apart from the fact that it’s going to be live action with Sonic himself being CGI. The biggest question on my mind is which Sonic will the go with? Is it going to be a film about classic Sonic on an adventure with Tails and Knuckles or is this going to be lanky modern Sonic and all his buddies? Maybe a whole new cast of characters, because that’s always worked so well in the past.

Anyway, that’s all just speculation. We have another while to wait yet before we know any concrete details. Whether they do a good job on it or it turns out to be a total cringe-fest I can’t wait to see it either way.
