Sony has today announced a new lower price-point for their virtual reality (VR) headset, PSVR as well as the PlayStation Camera Bundle.

From March 29 players will be able to grab a PSVR Basic Bungle at the new low cost of 34,980 yen, $299 USD and €299/£259.99, that’s an incredible price drop. According to Sony, since its launch in October 2016, the PSVR has launched over 300 titles and experiences with plenty more on the way, including Blood & Truth, WipEout Omega Collection and Firewall Zero Hour.

This now makes the PSVR the most affordable VR headset on the market, even if you consider the additional cost of purchasing a PlayStation 4.

Interestingly, while Sony has been keen to announce every little milestone the PS4 has had, they’ve been fairly quiet when it comes to announcing sales numbers of the PSVR. Perhaps this new drop in price is some sort of indication?

What are your thoughts on the price drop? Will you be considering a PSVR purchase in the near future?
