SEGA has announced that it’ll be kick starting the SEGA x Nintendo console war once more as it plans to release the Mega Drive Mini.
At SEGA Fes 2018, the Japanese company announced that it’ll be releasing the Mega Drive Mini which much like the Nintendo NES and SNES Mini, the Mega Drive Mini will be a miniature version of its classic console packed with a number of games.

The miniature console will arrive in Japan first, presumably with a wider release later in the year. There’s currently no word on which games will be packed in the console, but hopefully we can expect titles like Sonic The Hedgehog, Golden Axe, and more.
Previously the only modern SEGA Mega Drive consoles were produced by AtGames, which weren’t of the best quality. However on Twitter AtGames has revealed that the Mega Drive Mini will be powered by its own hardware, which is interesting.
