Another week with another lack of any notable new releases means that Ubisoft’s Far Cry 5 remains in the top spot in the UK Gaming Charts.
As the summer gaming drought comes a little earlier than planned the UK Gaming Charts remain pretty much the same as the past few weeks according to Chart-Track. Overall, Far Cry 5 has suffered another drop in sales at around 45%, though that’s not unusual for a game’s third week on sale.
FIFA 18 holds onto second place with a 7% drop in sales followed by Mario Kart 8: Deluxe climbing up to third, despite an overall drop of 17% in sales. The week has been so slow that the only game to climb the charts with a rise in sales is Fallout 4. According to Chart-Track if any game were to sell 3,500 copies last week, it would have landed in the Top 10.
This year so far has been incredibly slow for the gaming market with Far Cry 5 and Sea of Thieves being the only notable releases in the retail market. However with God of War launching later this month it’s highly likely that it’ll shoot into the top spot and remain there until later this Summer.
