Focus Home Interactive and DONTNOD Entertainment have released a brand new video for their upcoming vampire RPG, Vampyr, which takes a deeper look at gameplay.
The trailer, which can be seen below, takes a look at some of the gameplay mechanics in the game including how players will use the lifeblood of his victims to evolve Dr. Jonathan Reid’s vampire abilities as he struggles to defeat the evil which lurks in the shadows of London’s streets.
In Vampyr, players can evolve their vampire abilities from the blood of London’s citizens, but it’s not as simple as just grabbing a snack and going about their way as every kill has an overarching effect on the city as a whole for both the better or the worst. In the game players will investigate the lives of its citizens to decide who’s on the menu for the day.
To add to the pressure, if too many citizens are killed an entire district of Victorian London will collapse causing the whole area to be inaccessible to players.
In order to progress however, players will need to evolve their powers to combat some of the monsters and evil-doers in the game. The trailer takes a look at some of these combat abilities including the Bloodspear which allows players to do damage from afar, or striking with a deadly blow at close range.
