They say the third in the series is always the dud right? Well if you’ve never heard that saying, I’ve got some prime examples to prove the saying right: Spider-man 3, The Dark Knight Rises, Lion King 3 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3.
You probably saw what I did there by leaving Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles until the end of that little list since it leads into me talking about the comic I would like this week. So, most weeks, I’ll find myself looking through the new releases and they’ll usually be one or two books I’d like read and buy.
Sometimes I don’t always get them because of money or having a very hectic reading list. This week, I would like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Urban Legends #1 which is going to re-printed by IDW Comics and released this Wednesday.
So, let me give you a little background on this. It’s going to be three issues long and they’ll be released monthly. Initially, they’ll be priced at £2.49 but after a month they should come down to £1.49 if you buy through Comixology. If you’re buying physical, you can probably get them from your local comic shop or wait for the trade which should come out in a couple of months, the trade will also be available digitally as well.
Urban Legends are a reprint from Images Comics who published a series of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics which carry on from the Mirage continuity but faded into rarity and may or may not be canon, something for you to find out eh?
If you’ve got a good memory, you probably wondering why I was talking about the third thing in a series, well now you’re about to find out why. Well, these comics are considered to be Volume 3 in the series and we see the Heroes in a Half Shell go through some changes, with Donatello becoming a Cyborg and other things.
Will it be the rare third thing which is rather good like the Bourne Ultimatum? I’ll just have to buy it and find out.
