Video game critic and YouTuber John Bain, better known as TotalBiscuit, has sadly passed away, aged 33.
Bain announced publicly that he had bowel cancer in October 2015, but despite this continued to produce video content and podcasts on his YouTube channel right up until his death, which was announced Via Twitter at midnight.

Bain was best known for his critique of mainstream games and media, as well as his championing of indie titles. Bain’s YouTube following reached 2.2 Million before his unfortunate passing.
A post was made to reddit on Bain’s behalf earlier this month, as an update on his health and situation. The post mentioned how bain “did not have long left”, and that he would be leaving his channel to his wife, Genna.
“When I leave this world I want to leave something my family can use to help them earn,” Bain stated. “I love the thought that once I’m gone, the channels will go on in my absence, hosted by the person who knows me best and has been with me for the better part of my adult life.”
John ‘TotalBiscuit’ Bain passed away, after a long battle with cancer, on May 24. He was just 33 years old. We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Bain’s family and loved ones in this difficult time.
